Foundation Arabian Mares and Bloodlines

Here at CJ Ranch we believe in quality not quantity. We are a small operation with only two well-bred purebred Arabian mares in our breeding program. Both of these mares have excellent bloodlines, are trained reining horses, are the "Energizer Bunny" and love to get out and go. They are also "little girl" horses -- they love attention! Please read on to learn more about these beautiful ladies, the stallion we usually use and to view their pedigrees.

Zees PetHalf Arabian Xenophonn great granddaughter

(Zee Impressive x Zee Pet (by Xenophonn))
Xenophonn granddaughter This 1995 bay mare lives up to her name! She is a sweetheart and is extremely people oriented. "Pet" is quite stocky with a beautiful dished head (the photos do not do her justice). Bred to be a cutter, she has the bloodlines and the build to make athletic working babies. Pet loves to work cows and is a top hand at herding them... esp. rounding up the strays and heading off the occasional "runaways". She is not afraid to "get down and dirty" with a cow. Pet is very smooth and has a natural western/hunter headset. Out on the range, she gets out and covers ground with her ears forward. Pet is an excellent mother who takes good care of her baby and allows us to handle it without getting upset.

Pet's 2005 filly, CJ Zeebra (shown right as a newborn), is a stocky unusual color (she's registered buckskin, but we don't think she is -- either grey or possibly a silver grullo) by Oakies Ginger Snap (below) who is easy to work with and a quick learner. Zeebra is built like a tank and she is becoming a really nice reiner under the guidance of Nathan Kent.

HSABintu Al-BahriHalf Arabian reining mare

(AM Sea Captain++ x Al-Marah Ilargo (by Al-Marah Counts Pennant))
Al-Marah bred reining broodmare This 1996 Al-Marah-bred chestnut mare is one of the last AM Sea Captain++ daughters. AM Sea Captain++ produced more cutting and reining athletes than any Arabian stallion today. "Bahri" is not only beautiful to look at, but she is also one of the prettiest movers out there! Bahri is well built, but petite (NOT fragile). She has two and a half years reining training, and multiple Class A placings in Reining AAOTR 40 & Over and Open. This is just a real nice "using" horse. She covers ground on the range, is a natural cow horse, is an excellent mother and is just plain fun to ride.

Bahri has had three foals: CJ Snapple Berry (shown right as a 3 yr. old), a 2004 Half Arabian chestnut mare; CJ The Magician, a 2006 chestnut Half Arabian gelding; and CJ Raspbahri, a 2009 chestnut filly born May 7, 2009.  The older offspring are by Oakies Ginger Snap (below).  The youngest filly is by Payback Typhoon, an AM Ghost Ship son who features the cross of AM Sea Captain++ and Dreamazon+++.

Bahri and her offspring are for sale.  We are selling these wonderful individuals because we have too many nice horses and not enough time to ride.  We had to choose which ones suited us best.  You won't go wrong by buying one of these nice horses.

Oakies Ginger Snap (reference sire)

(Van Oakie Bar x Miss Pocolita)
Oakies Ginger Snap is a tall, long legged grullo AQHA stallion from a local ranch. He is Foundation bred with an excellent hip, clean neck and refined head. "Snap" Sr. is used to work cattle year round on varying terrain. He is even used to carry in sick calves in the middle of the night in the heart of winter. Snap Sr. has an excellent disposition -- he breeds mares (live cover) in the morning, works cattle all day and breeds mares in the evening. His foals are quick learners and inherit his excellent disposition. Snap Sr.'s sire was successfully breeding a few mares into his mid-20s.
