Our mission:
To produce quality functional animals that are profitable in today's diversified marketplace.
In 1873 George Grant imported the first Angus from Scotland to America. From these first four bulls the Black Angus breed has become one of the most popular breeds in America today.
The American Angus Association is the largest beef breed registry association in the world. No other beef registry records more cattle a year than the American Angus Association.
CJ Ranch is proud to be a part of the Black Angus heritage. Our goal is to produce low to moderate birthweight cattle with great growth potential. To achieve this end we have accumulated some of the best bloodlines
in the business (please view our ranch history with an emphasis on the cattle -- if you are interested in learning more about our horses please click here). We believe in producing quality NOT quantity. Our calves excel in the feedlot with an above-national-average number grading out as Certified Angus Beef. All of our calves have graded out Choice or better.
HERD REDUCTION
Due to other obligations and interests we are having a cattle herd reduction. To learn more about our breeding program visit our Cattle Ranch History page and our Foundation Cattle page. EPDs are available here.
Quality
As part of our continuing commitment to quality Johanna and Neal, owners, have individual certification in The Idaho Beef Quality Assurance Program sponsored by the University of Idaho Extension, and CJ Ranch has Level I ranch certification in the same program. Neal is also on the USDA local Conservation District board and a graduate of Ranching for Profit.
